Feature and Follow - One Book for the Rest of Your Life?

8474595901 873f4993f4 Feature & Follow #137

As our hostess, Alison, says, this one is exquisite torture. I have to go with The Lord of the Rings, Omnibus Edition. The story has so many layers that rereading it gives you something new every time. (And its very thick so it takes a while to get through each time!)

  1. I wasn't sure if that was cheating or not, so didn't pick it, LOL...

    1. Well, maybe, though the three books are so tightly connected, and often published together, I decided it was ok. If I had to choose just one it would be The Fellowship of the Ring, because it retains more of The Hobbit's whimsy than the other two. Thanks for the follow!

  2. Aha! I cannot really say that I love LOTR. It's more of I like it. I can't appreciate the archaic language, sorry. If I have to choose between the four including The Hobbit, I definitely go with the Hobbit because it was more fun.

IF we're talking about the movie adaptations though, that would be different. I LOVE LOVE OTR The Movie, all three. It's the best film adaptation there is. I can watch the three movies over and over again without getting exhausted. And I am excited for December to come, Desolation of Smaug would be totally epic.

  3. I agree, the best movie adaptations I've seen. I like the archaic language, but you do have to be in the mood for it, can't just pick it up.
