I play with toy soldiers. And paint them. And research them (and the battles, campaigns, history). And build the terrain. And dabble in writing the rules. It is quirky but it is a lot of fun.
An American Civil War game
Two Crusaders
Romans on the march
Prussians from the time of Frederick the Great
Hopping through. Wow, that is so cool. The playing part looks fun, but those are also really cool looking miniatures. Do you ever listen to Dan Carlin's Hardcore Histories or Mike Duncan's Revolutions podcasts? Really well researched, detailed history podcasts, usually about war.

The strange thing is, unless you're at the game, you wouldn't think this of me - I own no real weapons and opposed both the Iraq and Afghanistan invasions. Thanks for the follow!
DeletePretty interesting hobby. Have a great weekend.

DeleteThat is so cool! I haven't ever know anyone who does that. I have only seen them on TV in movies..lol. :) Thanks for stopping by my blog.
ReplyDeleteThank you! The hobby is much bigger in Europe than the States.
DeleteThat is awesome. I also love history, especially mysteries in history and the terracotta soldiers is one of my favorites.
ReplyDeleteI know I have been here before and already follow but I also followed GFC today.
